Jadon, Cole, and Carter welcome you!

Welcome to Jadon, Cole, and Carter's blog. Well, considering they can't type, it is really Mommy and Daddy's blog, but since the primary subjects of almost every conversation are the three boys, we'll say it is theirs. We look forward to sharing the many every day happenings and fun snapshots we experience as life goes on here in our little world. Hopefully we'll even become skilled enough to get some video clips up eventually. Enjoy!

So many pictures...so little time

There is so much I want to say and so many pictures I want to post, but what I should be doing is studying....so I'll post a few now and many more after my finals end THIS Saturday (finally!).

These are photos from the boys head shot shoot last weekend. Our photographer earned a place on our agency's recommended photographers list with these shots and he is just thrilled, as are we for him. Our agency is one of the most well known and reputed in LA and NY, so this is a really big deal for him.

Four no more!

Tonight we said "goodnight" for the last time to our little four year old boys. As we were eating the challah I had made for dinner tonight, Cole commented that "...this it the last challah! This is the last challah we will ever eat when we are 4. The next time Shabbat comes, we will be 5." It is with a heavy heart that I watch them officially step out of any semblance of babyhood and into the lives of students; a role they will hopefully know well and have mastered by the time they reach adulthood. They are both excited and fearful. I know my anxiety rubs off on them a bit as much as I try to shelter them from it. Cole especially has expressed that he doesn't want to grow up and Jadon doesn't mind growing up, but wants to live with me forever! I have assured both of them that there are lots of wonderful things about growing up (like driving a car and choosing your own bedtime), but they remain unconvinced. Transition has always been hard for me and experiencing the years fly by is extremely difficult. I have very mixed emotions on their birthdays. Arnie took some final photos of them in their last hours of being four right as they were heading up to bed. In the picture above, Jadon is holding a number 4 and Cole is holding a 5. Enjoy!

A Disney Day!

So as it turns out, Jadon did end up getting the commercial for Playhouse Disney. We feel very blessed to have found this amazing crew of people that think he is as great as we do (wink) . Today we shot at Griffith Park and worked with many of the same production people that we worked with for the Motts shoot. Jadon did VERY well at the beginning of the day, but faded toward the end when he ended up getting pulled from a couple of scenes for non-compliance (ugh). There were 12 kids on set and he was given many featured parts and considered the "featured" male for the day. Very cool. There were tons of wardrobe changes as the shoot made up many different promos (as opposed to one commercial) that will air for the next several years. Jadon even shot an Earth Day spot. Didn't we just have Earth Day? All in all it was a very fun day, but working outside for so many hours was totally exhausting. Tomorrow, Jadon and Cole have an audition for Leap Frog. We've auditioned for them before, but maybe we'll have better luck this time. I am ready for bed!

Jadon in the producers chair in the early part of the day.

In an attempt to change up Jadon's look (read: make him look like a different kid) they put him in a hat and tucked all his curls under it. You can see him in the front row at the far end of the picture. Did you recognize him?

Toward the end of the day, back in the directors chair in yet another outfit.

65 and cloudy...beach anyone?

I fell in love with the adorable trunks and rash guards on Old Navy's website this season, but I waited patiently for them to go on sale before I bit the bullet and finally bought them. That time finally came 15 days ago (I know this because they dropped their prices even more today and won't refund me the difference b/c it has been more than 14 days...grr). ANYWAY, the boys tried on their suits yesterday and Cole absolutely fell in love with his. He wore it all day yesterday. Today, after I set out their clothes, Cole completely ignored what I had put out for him (a warm fuzzy camouflage outfit) and instead went and found his new swim wear. Um, although it is supposed to be 90+ by the end of the week, it is 65 and cloudy today. Maybe Cole will end up being like that kid that wore that football jersey for 4 years! Ugh!

Yeah, he is wearing socks too. At least they are brown!

So many updates...so little time!

I'm CUTTING it!

For those who don't know, there has been an ongoing debate about what to do with Carter's hair for quite some time. I have wanted to cut it and everyone else thinks I should leave it long. Those who want me to leave it long will argue that this picture is not a representative sample of what it looks like on a daily basis, and this is true. This picture was taken after he woke up from a nap and even HE thought he looked funny. Really though, he is starting to look like he walked out of a Monty Python film and I can't take it anymore. I am cutting it (just a little bit).

I have been SO busy with the semester wrapping up (it feels like it has been an eternity). I am officially done on May 31st and will take one summer school class at UCLA for six weeks this summer. Then I am DONE until I start my program (likely next May).

Jadon is on hold to shoot a Disney promo with the same director he worked with for Motts. We haven't heard if he is officially booked yet or not and the filming date (Tuesday) is nearing, so I am becoming skeptical about this one, but we'll let you know if it happens and when it airs.

Everyone is getting older. With ALL of our birthdays coming in the next 6 weeks, it really allows me to reflect on how fast the boys are growing. 5, 5, and 2...amazing!

Jadon and Cole got 2 of the 10 coveted spots (via lottery) for Kindergarten in the brand new charter school that is opening here in the Fall. We are very excited to be part of this new school, which promises an intimate experience (550 students total for grades K-12) and an innovative yet proven teaching style. We hope it will grow to be all that is envisioned for it.

A little rock star?

Cole and Jadon recently had an audition where they were asked to come dressed like rock starts. We don't exactly have a lot of "rock star" clothes, but luckily, I have a friend whose Dad is really a rock star and therefore, his grandkids have to have all the rock star clothes. My girlfriend kindly raided her kid's closets and this is what the boys ended up in. Cole was trying to give me the "cool" rock star look. Hey, he tried!

We will be celebrating Mother's Day with my Mom, Dad, Grandma (who is living with my parents while her home is renovated), and Arnie's Mom. It should be a nice day.

Happy Mother's Day to all who are celebrating!
